Ferries can be used for a wide variety of applications - whether transporting cars, as a public transport vehicle in port cities or on the water and the road as an amphibious vehicle. For every project, a detailed analysis of the operating profile is of great value in order to determine the ideal propulsion system and the appropriate energy carrier. This ensures that the ferries are efficient, environmentally friendly and perfectly adapted to their tasks.
Many of our customers' ferries are already completely emission-free. The design is optimized for the most important parameters of use, such as low draughts and maximum passenger capacity. This maximizes the operating time on the waterways and the number of passengers per trip.
Together with our customer, we developed a concept for a fully electric, autonomous ferry and the associated pontoons with an automatic mooring system. This type of vessel is intended to set completely new standards in urban public transport operations in the future.
This special car ferry was designed for shallow water navigation and maneuverability. There are 2 bell-shaped projections under the hull in which cycloidal propellers are arranged.
Within this project we had the chance to combine our knowledge of designing car ferries and e-mobility. This vessel is the first full electrical inland waterway vehicle ferry worldwide.
Our company was commissioned with the development of four zero-emission, solar-powered electric ferries for Berlin.
Ferries for inland lakes usually come up with multiple challenges such as the transport of the vessel to the lake when there is no shipyard. This was taken into account from the first designs steps on for this particular ferry.
The design for electric passenger ferry was developed, capable of carrying 70 guests.
