A country on hold – Time to Set Sail.

March 20, 2025

The first quarter of the year is over, and we eagerly await what the future holds. There is a growing sense of hopeful anticipation that the new government will guide us towards the fuel of the future.
To address this matter, we have written a few motivating words that we would like to share with you.

The elections are over, the results are in - yet it seems that their significance has already faded. Amid geopolitical challenges, the formation of a new government appears to take a backseat. However, now more than ever, Germany needs a capable and determined government to contribute to Europe's political strength rather than retreat into the background.

For months, decision-makers have adopted a wait-and-see attitude, hoping for a new course. The engine of the German economy is beginning to sputter.

This inevitably raises the question: What will power the economic engine in the future? Electricity, diesel, hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, e-fuels, or LOHC? While so-called experts and skeptics get lost in endless debates about renewable energies, the urgently needed progress is absent. The discussions may spark heated arguments, but without tangible results, their energy dissipates into nothingness.

Those who bear responsibility for a larger community should confidently set a clear direction. Adjusting the course during the journey is far more effective than remaining idle in the harbor. A team striving towards a common goal with full force is easier to steer than a group caught in aimless discussions. Yet, this is exactly where we stand - debating which course to take.

That’s why we make a clear appeal to the future government: Face the challenge of our future, roll up your sleeves - and keep them rolled up! Set decisive impulses and maintain them. The German economy is ready, eager, and highly motivated to set sail and follow the course. But it is up to you to provide the general direction - we will bring the country to its destination.

This journey will not be linear. The quality of the new government will be measured by how quickly it reacts to unexpected obstacles and how flexibly it adjusts its course - without forcing the economy into constant back-and-forth. It requires dynamic yet reliable leadership that keeps the goal in sight despite potential twists and turns.

Seize the opportunity and take the helm before your crew abandons the ship.
